Personal Injury
Practice Overview
Personal injury law refers to actions that arise out of an injury. When a person is injured the legal remedies and defenses involved in civil lawsuits brought as a result of wrongful conduct can be complex. Personal injury actions do not involve criminal law, however a criminal action might be involved. A civil action arising out of an injury seeks “damages” (usually measured in dollars) and does not involve the government prosecuting the wrongdoer. Personal injury actions can involve property where property is damaged or destroyed.
