Mr. Clay also assists investors who have lost money as a result of fraud, negligence or other wrongful acts committed by stockbrokers and financial planners. He is a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association, a national bar association whose member attorneys are dedicated to the representation of investors in disputes with the securities industry. He has assisted his clients in recovering hundreds of thousands of dollars in these matters.
Mr. Clay is a past national director of the American Arbitration Association, currently chairing the AAA’s Large Complex Case program in Hawaii, where he also presides over its Advisory Counsel. Co-author of the popular “Before You Sue” introduction to mediation, he has also published many learned articles and books on construction law and alternative dispute resolution. Today, he is a recognized pioneer in ADR application to construction and business.
A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Law, Mr. Clay received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He is an adjunct professor at Hawaii Pacific University’s MBA program and has served as adjunct professor at the University of Hawaii Law School, teaching construction law.
