Attorney Joshua Rovelli
Persevere like a bird in the wind.
(Samoan Proverb)
Joshua Rovelli grew up in Plano, Texas before moving to Arkansas during college. He settled in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2010 and lived and worked in the city for six years. Joshua graduated with B.A. degrees in English and Secondary Education from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law. Although Joshua maintained a full-time job clerking at a law firm during law school, he graduated in the top ten percent on his class, was awarded CALI Excellence awards in four areas of study, and earned a perfect score in Bowen’s trial advocacy course. He also contributed to the Arkansas Probate and Trust Law Review and was a finalist in the Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Competition, winning second place in the category of Best Brief at a national Moot Court Competition in Albany, New York.

Joshua began his legal career in Arkansas focusing on workers’ compensation and general insurance defense, but quickly transitioned to consumer protection litigation. Joshua is licensed in both Arkansas and Kentucky, and for two years focused exclusively on representing abused and neglected nursing home residents in both states. During this period, Joshua handled many depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.

In 2016, Joshua and his wife transitioned from Arkansas to American Samoa. At that time, Joshua joined Ashley & Associates as an associate attorney. In 2017, Joshua remained with Ashley & Associates as the firm became RDA Law Firm, and Josh was promoted to Senior Associate Attorney. Josh has quickly established himself as a capable litigator and integral part of the legal team at RDA Law Firm. At RDA Law Firm, Joshua has focused on commercial litigation, maritime and admiralty law, banking, and general civil litigation. Joshua’s article, Trading Pine Trees for Palm Trees: Practicing Law in U.S. Territories, was recently published in the Spring 2017 Issue of The Arkansas Lawyer.

When he is not appearing in court or in the RDA Law Firm conference room simplifying complex legal issues for clients and colleagues alike using only a white board, Josh and his wife can be found actively enjoying the many beaches, hiking trails and natural attractions abundant in American Samoa and throughout the South Pacific.
